BEING PRESENT IN A FLEETING WORLD

A series of seasonal retreats in 2015

...because truly being here is so much; because everything here
apparently needs us, this fleeting world, which in some strange way
keeps calling to us. Us, the most fleeting of all.
              Once for each thing.
Just once, no more. And we, too
              just once. And never again.
But to have been
this once, completely, even if only once:

to have been at one with the earth, seems beyond undoing.

              -Ranier Maria Rilke

The intent of the retreat day is to raise your awareness of living more fully on the earth and in the present moment by cultivating awareness and creativity. Through the practices of sitting meditation and meditative movement, the series of workshops will expand and deepen your power of attention and intuition. The afternoon poetry workshops offer an opportunity to give form and voice to the energies of feelings, thoughts, and imagery that arise in you during the retreat day. The setting is a house and grounds in the woods, a setting of simple natural beauty. The retreat begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
